What Takes Place In My First Training Session?

Your first session will consist of fitness testing followed by a brief workout. I have each client fill out a health history questionnaire/activity history, so that we are aware of any limitation/impairment and can create a safe and effective program (in some cases a doctor’s release is required to start an exercise program).

Fitness testing provides a starting point for your program, as well as a way to measure progress toward your goals. However, I do recommend clients focus on weight, inches etc loss, but to focus more on their overall health and how they feel. Following the workout, I give each client a meal diary to fill out for 4-6 days. This will help in ensuring that your nutritional intake will support your efforts in the gym or your home.

Do I Need a Personal Trainer?

Many people benefit from personal training services. Working with a personal trainer is a whole new way to experience physical fitness. Working with a trainer will provide you an in-depth education, advice and guidance about physical fitness and nutrition, and you will perform exercises properly for better results.

Why Should I Use A Trainer? What Sets You Apart From Other Trainers?

Having a trainer takes the guesswork out of exercise and diet and ensures that you will reach your goals safely and effectively in the shortest possible time. Constant monitoring and adjusting of your program, as well as providing supervision and motivation, leads to attaining your goals much more quickly.

  • Having said that, a good trainer does NOT:

  • Talk on his/her cellphone during your appointment
  • Arrive late for sessions
  • Show up unprepared
  • Cancel sessions at the last minute
  • Fail to keep good records and measure progress

I pride myself on my superior service, training and support of my clients. I attend seminars, classes and conferences each year in order to stay on top of the latest research and training methods. With over 7 years of experience, I have a real passion to help clients realize their potential, and get measurable results!

How Do You Stay In Shape?

My personal program consists of 5 -6 days of strength training with cardiovascular work, and a weekly session of power yoga for flexibility and stress relief. I recommend that all my clients try a Pilate or yoga class. It does wonders for your core, flexibility, and general well-being.

How Long Will It Take For Me To Get In Shape?

This is one of the most frequently asked fitness questions that I get. Of course we all want to know how fast we can get in shape and how quickly we can transform our bodies. The most realistic answer that I can give you without actually having evaluated your individual fitness level and starting point is that your progress will be linked directly to your level of effort. If you are serious about getting fit, then it is absolutely vital that you educate yourself on the basics of training and diet. I will provide you with efficient information about diet and effective ways to train your body that will give you an incredible starting advantage over the majority of people who want to get fit but don’t have any of the workouts or information they need to make an effective start. Getting fit and then staying there is a life long journey – not a one way ticket. No matter where you are starting from it’s a tough process – but when you focus on the journey – the little workout by workout victories – you can actually learn to start enjoying fitness for what it is – an important part of your life. There are no short cuts and you have to realize that getting the body you want takes time and effort. I started to take my fitness seriously about 10 years ago and I am still not where I would like to be. If you are serious about getting the body you want, then you have to be prepared for the life long journey. There is always room for improvement and even if you achieve your goal, you have to work just as hard to maintain it. The next time you catch yourself wondering how long it will take you to reach your fitness goals don’t sweat it – it’s a life long journey to success :)
